Funding for projects

There are a number of avenues through which the BDTNRM funds project development, including:

  • commissioning a provider,
  • forming a collaborative team,
  • requesting tenders,
  • sponsoring community events

Regional Bodies may also auspice a number of other funding sources, including:

  • Blueprint for the Bush funds
  • National Landcare Program

Regional Bodies may also provide Letters of Support to funds administered by other agencies. If you require a Letter of Support for your project, contact Judy Warner, BDTNRM Manager, Community and Engagement; ph (07) 4734 3544 email: judy.warner@bdtnrm.org.au

Funding under NHT2 and NAP

About NHT and NAP funding

The environmental challenges facing Australia are as unique and varied as our natural environment. To make sure these challenges are addressed in a sustainable and innovative way, the Australian Government is investing in NHT2 and NAP funding until June 2008 (and continuing support through a third round of funding to 2013). From NHT2 and NAP funds available Australia-wide, over $20 million was allocated to the Burdekin Dry Tropic Region ,to be administered by Burdekin Solutions Ltd, (trading as BDTNRM).  The funding will be allocated across six broad streams of investment, as outlined in the Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM Plan 2005 to 2010.

  • Atmosphere
  • Biodiversity
  • Coastal and Marine
  • Land, Soils and Agriculture
  • Water (Surface water and wetlands; Ground water)
