Landscape Connectivity in the Northern Brigalow Belt - A Biodiversity Hotspot

In partnership with Greening Australia and the Environmental Protection Agency this project aims to deliver habitat connectivity at the landscape scale.  Landholders will be engaged in a stewardship scheme to:

  • undertake on-ground works that enhance biodiversity values in core areas and habitat corridors; and
  • establish perpetual volunteer conservation agreements over these lands, which are principally productive grazing enterprises, and thus increase the National Reserve System.

This project is funded through the Australian Government’s Caring for our Country program until 30 June.  As a result, only limited properties in the northern Brigalow Belt with very high biodiversity values will be engaged.
