BDTNRM recognise the potential capacity the community hold as custodians of coastal land and with that, their passion and willingness to be involved directly in the management of on ground works at local sites. Many community members belong to NRM groups or ‘Coastcare’ groups and BDTNRM has developed a small grant program enabling community groups to carry out on ground works including weed removal, revegetation, fencing, signage etc. Interested community groups apply for funds by initially discussing a project with Rachel Allan and Adam King then fill in the application form.
