Dairying Better 'n' Better for Tomorrow worked with a group of
dairy farmers to increase their profitability, competitiveness and
sustainability by adopting on-farm natural resource management
practices. The group represented five dairy farms located on the
Eungella range, close to areas of high conservation
significance. These are the only dairy producers between
Rockhampton and the Atherton Tablelands.
The project identified and prioritised land and water
management issues on each dairy farm and linked these issues
to sustainable management practices. It encouraged the adoption of
recomended management practices addressing farm, catchment and
regional priorities, as well as implementing strategic on-ground
works.
