August 2007 - Dr Dight is two years into a Burdekin Dry Tropics Natural Resource Management (BDTNRM) project to improve the
water quality of the massive Burdekin River catchment, all 138,000 square kilometres of it. It is not only one of the
biggest water catchment areas of the country, and of course the state, but commands an enormous influence on our

13 August 2007 - The Gudjuda Reference Group Aboriginal Corporation is launching its primary school cultural awareness
programme at the Kids Caring for Country Day being held at the Riverway in Townsville on Thursday 16 August.
Burdekin Dry Tropics Natural Resource Management (BDTNRM), in partnership with Dept of Education, Training
and the Arts are sponsoring the event while Conservation Australia will be presenting information about water

Dalrymple Landcare Committee Good Land Management Awards - June 2007
The Darlymple Landcare Committee will be presenting six awards, worth $20,000, to landholders and commercial
operators who have used innovative management strategies to improve their land condition. The awards are part of
the SPIRAL project, funded by the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Water’s National Landcare
