June 2009 NQ Dry Tropics sorts native frogs from toads
NQ Dry Tropics has developed a website to help residents distinguish native frogs from the exotic cane toad.
NQ Dry Tropics Project Manager, Meredith Anderson said the website, www.frogsnotcanetoads.com.au, was a great way for school students and members of the community to become familiar with the native frogs found in our backyards that look similar to the cane toad.

January 2009 Creating Free Passage for Fish at Rita Island
A rock ramp fishway has been constructed to enhance migration of native fish within the Burdekin Anabranch. This will help small fish such as mullet migrate upstream while still allowing the water in the river to be used by local people. [doc 194.0 kb]

A draft regional pest management strategy has been released and is open for comment from members of the public. It covers the Burdekin Dry Tropics region which includes the local government areas of Townsville, Charters Towers, Burdekin, Barcaldine, Flinders, Etheridge, Hinchinbrook, Isaac, Palm Island and the Whitsundays. January 2009 New Alva Fence, New Alva Saltpan
