Landcare Groups awareness of the regional NRM activities in their areas and improved alignment with NLP goals.

Project update

The Landcare Coordinator commenced in February 2006 and has since attended and particpated in 16 Landcare meetings and 10 community group meetings throughout the BDT Region. The Landcare Coordinator provides email alerts of current initiatives in the Burdekin Dry Tropics region and upcoming events that may be of interest. Guest speakers have been organised for Landcare and community meetings and BDTNRM has sponsored eight Landcare members to attend the Queensland Landcare Conference. A Lower Burdekin Landcare group has been engaged and all other groups in the region are aware of the mosaic map showcasing Landcare activities. The Coordinator has also been fostering better linkages through participation in joint events such as AgGrow in Emerald.
